This billet aluminum plate was designed as a solution to the problem of the factory Ford belt tensioner deflecting under load in supercharged applications.  The factory tensioner arm tends to flex toward the front of the vehicle under heavy belt loads, allowing the belt to slip.  Adding boost with custom pulleys or adding an aftermarket supercharger to your vehicle loads the belt further, compounding the flex problem.

This brace is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and is then finish-anodized in black for long-lasting surface protection.  The brace simply bolts over the factory tensioner using the provided longer bolts, and when installed, prevents the tensioner from bending outward.  A special Delrin insert is installed in the back of the brace to prevent metal-to-metal contact when the tensioner is heavily-loaded.

The kit is a complete bolt-on, and requires no cutting, drilling, or any irreversible changes for installation.  The kit includes the precision-machined billet plate with the Delrin insert, three aluminum spacers, and three stainless steel cap screws with washers (not shown).

Note: This tensioner plate cannot be used with the single bolt tenmsioner found on the 5.0 4V and the 5.4 4V application.
